Realism Artist, David Peikon


     




The magnificent landscape of Old Westbury Gardens have been the subject of many of the artist's paintings over the past 15 years.  In 2011 ,  55 paintings were displayed there for his Solo Show in Westbury House , the historic mansion on the property.  " 15 Years to Life , the Education of a Painter " was a great success that enabled the artist to raise $25,000 to support the preservation of this outstanding public garden. The artist continues to support Old Westbury Gardens through the sale of his work.



 




This world renowned research laboratory has been the home to 8 Nobel Laureates including Dr. James D. Watson,
Co- Discoverer (with Dr. Francis Crick) of the DNA Double Helix. 
In 2003 the artist painted a portrait of Dr. Watson in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of that historic scientific breakthrough.  Through the friendship that ensued , the artist became deeply involved in fund-raising activities for research there and is honored to serve on the Board of Directors of the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Association.
